Visual artist, Tom Butterworth, creates captivating sculptures from recycled sandstone that double as furniture pieces and decorative items, his vision and skill giving new purpose to this stone.  Through hours of meticulous and considered work, raw material is refined to reveal seams that have formed over many thousands or even millions of years, each unique in varying tone and texture.

Like BONDI WASH, Tom draws inspiration from the rugged beauty of Australia and its valuable resources, honouring the intrinsic qualities unique to each.  A combination of function and beauty, each hand-crafted piece conveys his love of the natural environment and the striking characteristics of this ancient stone.

A collection of Tom’s inspired vases, each made from his studio in the Northern Beaches, is now on display and available for purchase at the BONDI WASH Bondi and Paddington stores until mid March.
